Luxury Vinyl Plank comes in different wear layers that start at 6, 12, 20, or 22 mils thick. The flooring will be more durable the thicker the wear layer. We recommend 20-22 mil thickness.

While laminate is a nice product, it is outdated and for the same cost you can get luxury vinyl plank which is lifeproof. Laminate is not waterproof or water resistant, unless stated on the label.

Tile or wood?

Natural wood is a product that requires careful maintenance. Wood floors are easier to scratch and are afraid of moisture. However, tile generally is unaffected by moisture, and also is nearly impossible to scratch. Additionally, when you walk on tiled floors, they feel colder than wood floors.

Hardwood floors are popular because of their beauty, durability and longevity. They rejuvenate your living spaces and provide the foundation for the ‘wow’ factor. Plus, the average wood floor lasts ten years before it needs professional cleaning or refinishing. Once refinished, it will last another ten years on average. What is the difference between Laminate and Luxury Vinyl Planks?

Laminate floors are made of paper dust glued together (which makes laminate floors very afraid of moisture). Since LVP is mostly made of plastic and they are not afraid of getting wet, LVP floors practically do not expand from moisture.

What is glued down floors?

Glued down floors are wood floors. During the installation process, special glue for the wood floor is used. This is a laborious process, because the glue tends to dry out and if used improperly, the wood simply may not stick, then the next day if you knock on the floors, you will hear a hollow sound. This is an indicator of incorrect installation!

What are the common installation designs?

Nowadays, installing the final flooring has become more like the work of an artist. There are many different types of flooring and stacking products on the market. The most common placements are 50/50 (brick pattern), 33% or (⅓), 25% staggered (¼), as well as such types of installations as herringbone and French pattern.

How to choose a tile?

There are several factors to consider when choosing tile. For example, where the tiles will be installed. Never use wall tiles to be installed on floors. The most expensive tile is not always the best. Nowadays there are a lot of different shops and basically they all have different products. How is the home prepared for the removal of old floors ?

Our team will fully cover items such as windows, lamps, furniture, etc, (prior to any floor removal) in plastic that protects items from dust. This is what we call a clean workplace.

What is floor prep?

This is the preparation of the original flooring (concrete slab, wood subfloor) before starting installation. If there are humps, we grind down them. If there are large pits, they are filled with sand mix or self-level compounds.
